Sky's The Limit

The older we get and the more life experience we gain, the more adjustments we make to our personal goals. Some of us get a little too defeated and stop dreaming all together. After facing rejection, it happens to the best of us. It takes some time to dust ourselves off and get back on track. Even then, we’ve usually been knocked down a peg or two. However, children shouldn’t feel this way. They should believe that they can do anything that they set out to do. It breaks my heart to hear young people that haven’t even reached their teenage years set such limits for themselves. They are selling themselves short without giving anything a chance. If this is how they feel before they start, what is going to happen when they encounter actual disappointments? I don’t think young minds and spirits start out broken. They are taught to feel this way. Let’s not pass our insecurities and self doubts on to the next generation. We should work harder at building up their confidence and teach the to look beyond what is in front of them. Acknowledge that there are obstacles but remind them that it is their job to get pass them.
